How to Pose with Your Dog (Without the Stress!)

Getting in the photo with your pup is one of the best things you can do but I know it can feel a little awkward if you are not used to being in front of the camera. Add in a wiggly, excited or totally stubborn dog and suddenly you are wondering how on earth this is going to work.

Here is the good news. Sessions are super relaxed and I will guide you the whole way. There are no stiff poses or forced smiles here. It is just you and your dog having a good time while I capture the magic moments.

Here are a few tips to make your session a breeze:

1. Keep it natural
Forget stiff poses. Snuggle your dog, give them a scratch behind the ears or let them climb into your lap. The sweetest moments are the real ones.

2. Get on their level
Some of the best shots happen when you kneel or sit with your pup so you are face to face. It feels more natural for both of you and looks amazing in photos.

3. Treats and toys are lifesavers
Bring their favourite snack or squeaky toy. It helps get those ears up and their eyes focused on the camera.

4. Do not stress about perfect
Dogs do not know how to pose and that is the best part. A silly face, a big wet kiss or a paw in your lap often makes for the most memorable photos.

5. Go with their vibe
If your pup wants to play we will roll with it. If they are feeling snuggly we will keep things soft and calm. I will follow their lead so they are comfortable the whole time.

6. Dress comfy and keep it simple
You do not need to go over the top. Outfits that match or complement your pup’s colouring look great but honestly the focus is on you two anyway.

7. Most importantly have fun
The whole point of these photos is to capture your bond not make you feel awkward. We will keep it easy, fun and full of love. You just enjoy the moment and I will take care of the rest.
